Las Vegas - Hoover Dam - Grand Canyon - Antelope Canyon - Las Vegas (Nov 25-29, 2014)

Grand Canyon, Grand Canyon!  I had always wanted to visit Grand Canyon but not had a chance until NOW!  The plan was to fly to Las Vegas and rent a van.  Our itinerary was to visit Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon (South Rim), Antelope Canyon and Las Vegas!  We traveled with my long time close friend, Nui and her family!

November 25 - Tuesday
We arrived Las Vegas around 8 pm.  After meeting Nui, P' Roy and little Ryan, we all took a shuttle bus to Avis and got a van.  The van was cool and a great fit for our group of 7.  We drove about 30 minutes to a hotel (Quality Inn) near Hoover Dam.  This way we didn't have to be so hurry in the morning.  It was so COLD!

November 26 - Wednesday
We started the day early by having breakfast at the hotel.  We left the hotel around 9 am and it took us only 5 minutes to arrive Hoover Dam.

We all did the Power Plant tour together.  Starting with the movie about the Dam, we then moved along with the tour group to see Power Plant.  It was huge!
After we were done, my family moved forwarded with the Dam tour while Nui's family went to the visitor center.  Ryan is 2 years old and he was not allowed in the Dam tour.   It was so amazing to see the gigantic man made architect!

We ate lunch in the van and left Hoover Dam around 12:30 pm.   Now, it was time for Grand Canyon!  It took us about 4 and a half to arrive Grand Canyon.  I enjoyed the view along the way.  It was beautiful!  I was hoping to see the sunset at Grand Canyon.  Unfortunately we didn't arrive there in time of sunset.  I forgot that time in AZ is one hour ahead of NV.  Didn't plan for the time difference!!
We had dinner in the market place near Yavapai Lodge where we stayed tonight .  It was pretty good.  We drove to the lodge, rested and be ready for tomorrow!

November 27 - Thursday
Happy Thanksgiving!  It was so great to be here on Thanksgiving day!
We got up 5 am to get ready to see sun rise at Grand Canyon. I couldn't wait! We took the shuttle bus and decided to stop at this one. It was freezing cold but it was worth it every minute!  Gorgeous Grand Canyon!

We went to different stops by the shuttle bus. I had to remind my kids to be careful several times when they walked.  Do not play or run around!!!
I loved every stops we chose to visit.  Beautiful!!

We had Thanksgiving lunch at Grand Canyon before we left to our next stop - Page Arizona.  We left Grand Canyon around 3 pm.
We drove about 2 and a half hour and arrive Page, AZ.  I really enjoyed the scenery from Grand Canyon to Page.  So beautiful especially when it was sunset.  I kept telling everyone in the trip that I loved it.

November 28, Friday
Antelope Canyon was another place I had been looking forward to visiting.  Every time I saw beautiful shots on line, I always told myself I would come here one day.  Here I was!  We started the day early as our tour time was 8:30 am.  I couldn't get the 10 am as it was full.  We rode in a truck and it was really cold.  It took about 15 minutes to get to Antelope Canyon.

It was so crowded inside the Antelope Canyon.  Fortunately, our tour guide helped us taking pictures from my cell phone and our camera.  We wouldn't have great pictures without her help!

We left Page in the afternoon and arrive Las Vegas around 6 pm.  After putting stuff in the rooms (Circus Circus Hotel), we headed out to the Strip area by walking.  Neon lights and signs were everywhere!  After having dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant inside a hotel, we walked around in different hotels.  It was fun.  We took a bus back to our hotel and let the kids played some games before we went back to the room.

November 29, Saturday
Las Vegas
We got up late and had brunch at the hotel.  Then we took a bus to the Strip area again. We saw some shows, walked and took pictures.  We stayed there until 3 pm and had to leave to the Airport for the flight back home.  We arrived home about 10 pm.

Although I wasn't too crazy about Las Vegas, we got to see several things here.  It was a busy town and was so crowded with all tourists.  Buildings are pretty cool!

We had a blast!  Grand Canyon is so beautiful.  I want to take my mom back with me as she has always wanted to go.  Antelope Canyon is also a great place for photographers.  If I have a chance, I want to go back to Lower Antelope Canyon.  Hoover Dam is also amazing man-made architect. I love this trip!
